Introducing IntentSea Lab
IntentSea Lab is where we publish research notes, experiments, product previews and launches — each labelled by how mature it is.
IntentSea builds applied AI products: intentSearch for search and filtering on Shopify, IntentSea Vision for enterprise Computer Vision, and intentCurrent, a direction we are exploring for demand-driven sourcing.
IntentSea Lab is the place where that work starts — and, from today, the place where we write it down in public.
What we will publish here
- Research notes — problems we are studying, the methods we are trying, and what we learned, including approaches that did not work.
- Product previews — early looks at capabilities before they become products.
- Launches and updates — when something moves from the lab into intentSearch, IntentSea Vision or a new product.
- Engineering notes — how we deploy, evaluate and maintain AI systems in real operating conditions.
Honest maturity labels
Every product and many posts carry a status label, so you always know what you are reading about:

| Research direction | An open question we are investigating. Not a product, no launch date. |
| Prototype | Something working in the lab, not yet offered to customers. |
| In trial | A working product used by early users while we refine it. |
| Enterprise solutions | Delivered with our engineering team, scoped per project. |
